Campus Connection Launches 'Ribbons for Relief'
June 1st, 2010
NEW ORLEANS – We here at Campus Connection are proud to announce our stores effort to help raise money for the relief and recovery of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast from this tragic oil spill: Ribbons for Relief (RibbonsForRelief.com). After seeing the heart-wrenching pictures of oil-covered wildlife, our employees just knew they had to do something and together created the now popular ‘Black Ribbon’ design.
How does it work?
It’s simple! 20% of gross sales from our ‘Black Ribbon’ products gets donated each week to an organization aiding the clean up and recovery effort from the oil spill.

Where does the money go?
Every Friday, a donation is made to either the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana or the Audubon Institute’s Sea Turtle and Marine Mammal Response Fund. A scanned copy of the donation receipt is then posted to our ‘Ribbons for Relief’ page on Facebook so you know your purchase is really making a difference. We are not affiliated with either of these groups in any formal capacity.

How can I follow this wonderful campaign?
You can track all of our moves right here on Facebook. That’s where we post donation receipts, announce any new products, share photos, celebrate milestones and communicate with all of you. It is the heart of our campaign.

How can I help?
Well…buying a shirt helps obviously. Buying 25 is ever better. Aside from that, just help spread the word. Like our page on Facebook and suggest it to everyone you know. Tell your local reporter. Shout it from the nearest rooftop. The more people who know about our campaign, the better chance we have to sell more shirts and raise more money. Don’t be afraid to think big. And if you’re a celebrity and you’re reading this…call or email us please!
We’re also open to bulk pricing or custom orders ideas. Maybe we can add your company logo on the back of our shirts? Anything to help raise our weekly donations. Call us for inquiries and further information.
